Beyond Sockets: Breaker Fit
Other weatherproof boxes have sockets only in mind. The internal configuration of the FW-2 accommodates a circuit breaker, so it allows one protective device of the outdoor circuit, such as a cooker connection, a shed power supply, a pump, etc., to stay sealed on site instead of being placed back in the switchboard.
IP66 in Every Direction
With a dust-tight rating and protection against strong water jets, the box provides terminal protection against heavy rains, washing and dust from the workshops.
ABS Base, Rigid Under Load
The box’s ABS base is not affected by the tension applied to the terminals of the circuit breaker and the cables attached to it, which is a great advantage for the box in contrast to the thinner bases on the market.
Choice of Base Colour
The black transparent cover over the white or grey base of the box allows a subtle blending in with the walls or a rich equipment appearance.

FW-2 Electrical Waterproof Box — When the Breaker Needs Covering Too
Outdoor circuits come with two different components which we know of – the socket, which we use regularly, and the circuit breaker, which we seldom think about unless it trips out when it rains. The FW 2 electrical waterproof box combines the two in one IP66 construction – it allows to install a British standard socket for daily use, or a circuit breaker in case the device has to remain outside. Due to the additional internal depth, circuit breakers can be accommodated easily, and the transparent cover helps to read the switch.

What is an electrical waterproof box?
A waterproof electrical box is an enclosed shield which makes it possible to install switches, sockets and safeguards in damp and dusty locations. The FW-2 is IP66 rated, which means that it protects from dust and heavy water jets for outdoor and washing situations.
Can the FW-2 house a circuit breaker instead of a socket?
Yes, the inner structure holds circuit breakers and British standard outlets which require extra depth. You have to confirm with us the requirement in advance to manufacture correctly.
Why does breaker depth matter in a waterproof box?
Circuit breakers are larger than sockets and their terminals need space because of their curvature. A too small box can cause cable tensioning that could damage the sealing and the connection. The FW-2 is 120 mm deep and you will not have such a problem.
Can I see the breaker or switch state without opening it?
Yes, the black transparent cover made from PC or PS materials allows seeing what is going on inside while the device remains sealed according to IP66 level.
