Key Features & Typical Use
Charging in a French Format
In the case of Schuko-type USB sockets are rather common, the same cannot be said for USB sockets in French type E. Thus, any work done in France and focusing on this market is left with two choices – either use an adapter or not use a USB socket at all. E10-020 solves the problem of USB charging point by providing it inside a type E module with the earth pin being part of the socket as it is usual for this market.
Hotel and Rental Applications
The hospitality and rental property industry are in the greatest need of the French charging socket because this accommodation type attracts guests who bring various devices, but no charging adapters. Installing USB connectors in the wall means that the property won’t need to supply charging adapters. Therefore, the electric outlets remain free for lamps and kitchen appliances.
Two Charging Tiers, One Housing
With a 5V 2.1A output, the E10-021 module is ideal for daily charging. However, the market’s demand for faster charging has encouraged the manufacturing of the same module at a power output of 20W. The similarities in housing, frame interface and the socket contacts allow for both versions of the product to be manufactured from a single product line and a mold design.
Fits the Modular Frame System
The modular design of the socket is 80 x 80mm, enabling it to fit into an E10 frame of one to five gangs positioned in any way. If a lamp and charging service is required next to a bed, it is possible to use the USB socket module in conjunction with a French socket rather than one module having to serve both purposes.

E10-020 – A Charging Point for French Standard Installations
France, along with the rest of the world, follows its own standard for sockets that impacts the accessory market unevenly. For example, while charging sockets are very prevalent in Schuko format, they are relatively rare in Type E format. Thus, a hotel in France or a building using French sockets will either need to stock each room with adapters or expect guests to sort out their own charging arrangement. The E10-020 bridges this gap by providing a Type E module that is fitted with USB-A and Type C ports.
This module is also a practical solution for maintaining two operational mains points. If a double French socket is used with a charger plugged into one outlet, there is only one outlet left for other devices; if this module is installed alongside it, there will still be two mains points as well as two more charging ports. Since both modules have the dimension of 80 x 80mm in the same series, they will be made up of standard components in a two gang plate.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is there a USB socket available in French format?
Yes. The E10-020 is capable of doing this. Charging modules are available only in Schuko format, thereby leaving French standard projects without a similar product. The module has the Type E earth pin and packed the USB-A and Type-C ports into 80 x 80 mm housing.
What charging rate does it deliver?
The 5V 2.1A standard charging provides standard phone/tablet charging in common applications. As markets look for faster charging, the same model is developed as E10-021 with 20W.
Can the socket and the USB ports be used at the same time?
Affirmative. The circuit that charges the device has nothing to do with the plug, so the Type E port can be utilized anytime devices are charging from USB port outlets.
Does the earth pin affect fitting the module?
The earth pin doesn’t refer to the module but rather to a part of the socket face, which is responsible for granting access to the plug. The standard size of the module surface is 80mm by 80mm, allowing it to fit all E10 boxes with up to five gangs in any orientation, just like the other sockets.
Which cable types can guests use?
The hybrid design allows for the use of USB-A and USB-C, which means that both old USB-A cables and recent USB-C cables can work no matter what. This is a handy feature in hotels or rental places where it is not known what gadget guests will bring with them.
Can we order French and Schuko USB sockets in one shipment?
Sure. Since both the products are produced on the same platform, it is only normal for the distributors having to manage mixed orders for several markets. The MOQ per product is confirmed within the quotation of the supplier and OEM branding can be done for both products.
