Earth on Both Outlets
Kitchen appliances, laundry equipment and powered tools generally have metal casings and require a protective earth, which makes the ungrounded twin plate unsuitable for them. The E10-042 carries the Schuko earth arrangement on both outlets so the appliance pairs typically found in kitchens and utility rooms can be connected properly at one position.
One Box, Two Appliances
A washing machine and a dryer, a dishwasher and a waste disposal unit, a fridge and a microwave — these pairs are normally installed side by side. Two single outlets mean two wall boxes and double the wall work; the double plate keeps one box and keeps the pair aligned with the cupboards or the appliance run.
Finished Plate for Straightforward Work
This model arrives complete and is fitted directly to the wall box, with no frame to select separately. Where a project prefers the modular approach, the same socket format is available as an 80 x 80mm Schuko module (E10-016) for use in one to five gang frames.
Consistent with the Rest of the Series
The plate is PC and the contacts are phosphor copper, the same materials used throughout the E10 range, so a project mixing finished double plates for appliance positions and modular plates elsewhere keeps one material specification and one visual family.

E10-042 – Twin Earthed Sockets for Appliance Positions
The double Schuko plate is bought for positions where two earthed appliances stand together: under a kitchen worktop, in a utility room, at a home office desk with a computer and a printer, in a workshop with two power tools. In each case two separate single sockets would mean two boxes, two cable runs and two chances of misaligned cut-outs — the reasons the double plate is standard in appliance positions.
For a distributor the useful detail is that the earthed twin plate and the plain module are the same socket underneath. A project can specify finished double plates where two appliances always sit together, and modular Schuko sockets (E10-016) in frames where the layout is more varied, without introducing a different product family or a different look. Both are 16A 250V with phosphor copper contacts.

What is a double Schuko socket?
It is a single plate carrying two Schuko (Type F) outlets, used where two earthed appliances stand together. Each outlet is rated 16A 250V and has the side earth contacts of the Type F format.
Can I run two high-load appliances from one double socket?
Two appliances can be connected, but the total current drawn must stay within the rating of the circuit and its protective device. For heavy fixed equipment the installation design determines whether a dedicated circuit is required; the double plate does not increase the capacity of the circuit it is fitted to.
Is it modular or a finished plate?
The E10-042 is a finished product, supplied complete and fitted directly to the wall box. If you prefer the modular approach, the same Schuko socket is available as an 80 x 80mm module (E10-016) that clips into one to five gang frames.
Does it need a deeper wall box?
It fits a standard European wall box, using the same 80 x 80mm plate footprint as the rest of the series. Confirm the box depth used locally when planning larger installations, and ask us for dimensional information if needed.
Can the two outlets have separate circuits?
The plate carries two independent outlets, and whether they are fed from one circuit or two is a decision made in the wiring design rather than by the plate. For appliance positions where isolation matters, tell us and we will advise on the arrangement.
Can we brand the plate and choose the colour?
Yes. Logo printing on the plate is available together with custom carton and instruction sheet, and the plate colour can be specified per order. MOQ is per item and confirmed with the quotation for your configuration.
