Four Circuit Ultra Thin Wall Switch
The DN70307/DN70308 four-gang glass wall switch and aluminium wall switch contains four independent lighting controls accommodated in a single ultra-thin 88×86mm panel. Rather than mount four separate wall plates on four different back boxes, the ultra-thin wall switch consolidates everything into one standard British back box; it has a significant reduction in required wall space and significantly reduces installation time. The switches are available with either tempered glass for a glossy, easy to clean finish, brushed aluminium for a metallic, industrial design, or traditional PC. Each rocker controls its own circuit; you control your Main Ceiling Lights, under-cabinet task lighting, pendant lighting and accent/cove lighting from one location. They are rated to 10A or 16A/250V depending on the version, have red copper and Φ3.0×25mm silver alloy contacts in each gang, and meet the requirements of IEC; with a 12-year warranty.

Specifying a 4 Gang Slim Glass or Aluminum Wall Switch
Selection and wiring guidance for contractors choosing 4 gang switches with premium panel finishes.
Application Use Cases
For large residential kitchens, this 4 gang glass wall switch operates main ceiling lights, under-cabinet task lighting, island pendants, and cove accent lighting from one location. In open-plan living areas, it controls overhead, wall sconces, accent circuits, and floor lamp circuits independently. For hotel corridors and commercial meeting rooms, the 4 gang 2-way aluminum wall switch enables multi-point control across four separate lighting zones with a consistent metallic finish.
Wiring a 4 Gang Wall Switch
Each gang has its own common, L1, and L2 terminals, clearly marked. Feed the live supply into the ‘common’ terminal of gang 1, then link the ‘common’ terminals of gangs 2, 3, and 4 using a bridging link. Connect each outgoing switched live to the ‘L1’ terminal of the corresponding gang. To wire up 2-way circuits for use with the DN70308, connect the traveller wire to L2 for the appropriate gang. Cable management will need to be considered, as there are four separate circuits inside one back box. Plan how to route the cabling before connecting, and use the steel middle plate option when fitting the switch to create a stronger installation across the wider four rocker panel.
Installation Note
Even though you will have four independent circuits, this ultra-thin switch is compatible with a standard UK back box. Its slimline profile will reduce the distance between the switch and the finished wall compared to a regular switch. For heavily used public or commercial areas, we strongly recommend that you fit the steel middle plate to maintain the alignment of the panel during the years of continued daily operation.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is there a 4 gang switch?
Yes, the 4 gang switch is a standard electrical product. The DN70307/DN70308 is a British standard 4 gang glass wall switch and aluminum wall switch — four independent rockers on one 88×86mm slim panel, available in 1‑way and 2‑way versions. It replaces four single‑gang switches with one compact, ultra‑thin panel that fits a standard UK back box.
What does 4 gang mean on a switch?
“4 gang” means the switch has four individual rockers on a single faceplate. Each gang controls its own separate lighting circuit independently. The DN70 series 4 gang glass wall switch consolidates four circuits into one slim 88×86mm panel — four switches, one standard back box, one clean wall aesthetic.
What is the difference between 2 gang and 4 gang?
A 2 gang switch controls two separate lighting circuits from one wall plate. A 4 gang switch controls four. Both fit the same 88×86mm slim DN70 panel format. Choose 2 gang when two lighting groups meet at one wall position; choose 4 gang when you need to manage four independent zones — such as main lights, task lighting, accent lighting, and decorative lighting — all from one location.
Can I mix 1-way and 2-way circuits on the same 4 gang switch?
Yes. If you choose the DN70308 (4 gang 2 way), you can wire individual gangs as 1‑way by using only the common and L1 terminals. This allows you to have, for example, three gangs as 2‑way for multi‑location control and one gang as a simple 1‑way — all on the same 4 gang glass wall switch or aluminum wall switch.
