E10-013 EU Standard Door Bell Switch

A Bell Push That Matches the Rest of the Wall — 10A 250V Momentary Module

The E10-013 is a momentary door bell switch rated 10A 250V, built as an 80 x 80mm EU standard module. Pressing the rocker completes the circuit to the bell or chime and releasing it breaks the circuit again, so the bell rings only while the button is held — the standard behaviour for European door bell circuits.

Key Features & Typical Use

Momentary, Not Latching

A light switch remains in position, unlike the bell push. The E10-013 functions as a switch when pressed and stops working when released. The use of a normal latching switch in a bell circuit causes the bell to repeat ringing until the coil burns out; something that needs to be checked when working on the door station specification.

One Appearance across the Wall

Usually, the practical problem with the positioning of door bells is mainly of a cosmetic nature. The push plate made by the manufacturer of bells is not likely to be of the same type as wiring devices used in other areas of the property. As the E10-013 is part of the same family, the aforementioned switch has the same plate, finish and frame as are used for electrical switches installed by the door.

Fits the Module System

The button module measures 80mm by 80 mm and is compatible with any of the E10 models, irrespective of the configuration. As such, it can be installed together with a lighting switch, which is often found in homes where the light and the bell are activated from the same position.

Rated for Bell and Chime Circuits

The module has a rating of 10A 250V, which includes low-power bell and chime circuits as applied to the home and hotel work in Europe using either AC power or connection via a transformer. If your door station or video entry is working with a different signaling voltage, please notify us so that we can check the connection arrangements.

E10-013 – The Bell Push That Belongs to the Same Family

Position of door bell is an aspect that is hardly considered in most specification documents. Door bells are usually picked based on the chime available and then whatever pushplate comes in the package is installed. This is what one typically sees installed in any property. Thus, the results of ordinary practice is that one can see a plate that should never be there in the first place. As opposed to the bad practice mentioned above, E10-013 is a modukle of E10 family and therefore any plate used in this installation will be fabricated from the same materials and finished the same way as the switches.

In addition, it eliminates a minor installation risk. Traditional bell switches expect an intermittent connection; however, the latching switch does hold the chime coil powered as long as the switch is in position. The E10-013 switch will only close while being pressed—this is correct for chime and buzzer circuits, allowing one multi-gang switch frame to serve as a unit in combination with the porch lighting switch and hallway switch to save on installation boxes.

Factory-Direct OEM / ODM Manufacturer

We Manufacture, You Brand

EU module tooling in-house · PC moulding and copper contacts · OEM branding

Bell push modules constitute a slim slice of the European product line. However, they are easily visible as they are located right by the front door where the surface finish is most prominent. Developing them using the same tooling and plates as the switch modules is what ensures that the appearance is uniform across an entrance plate. The full European range is on our European sockets and switches page.

  • OEM branding – logo on the plate, custom carton and instruction sheet.
  • ODM options – plate colour, module mix, frame layout and packaging format.
  • Testing – function and electrical tests recorded for each production batch.
  • MOQ – flexible per item; confirmed with the quotation for your configuration.

Buying Guide

A bell push is a small line item with a compatibility question attached: what does the chime expect at the push button? Settle that first, then the plate layout.

  1. Confirm what the chime or door station requires at the push — momentary contact for standard chimes.
  2. Decide whether the bell push shares a frame with the porch or hallway lighting switch.
  3. Check the plate colour against the rest of the entrance installation.
  4. Confirm the frame size; a bell push beside a light switch usually needs a two gang frame.
  5. Choose the supply format: finished plates, or modules plus frames for local assembly.
  6. Approve a sample module and confirm quantities with our team.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a door bell switch?

It is a momentary (bell push) switch because it is a button fixed onto a plate, which closes the bell circuit as long as it is pressed and opens it as soon as it is released. It should be understood that this switch cannot be replaced with a latching switch.

Can I use a normal light switch for a door bell?

It will allow current to move through it however, a retaining switch stays in position, hence the chime coil will be kept activated until the user turns it off. This results in overheating and damaging the chime. Thus one should use a temporary module like the E10-013 for circuit applications using bells and buzzers.

Does the bell push match the other switches on the wall?

The E10-013 is part of series E10 and it is produced with the same plate material and design as other modules in this series, which means that a switching device such as a bell push and a lighting switch can be mounted in the same frame and look identical in all respects, except that they are labelled differently.

What voltage can it switch?

The module has specifications of 10A and 250V, which is suitable for most mains applications, such as chime circuits that are powered by transformers according to the standard practices across Europe for residential and hotel use. In case the door station or video entry system signal is designed differently, please share the specifications with our team to confirm the most suitable module.

Can it share a frame with a light switch?

Certainly! The unit dimensions are 80 x 80mm and is able to take any E10 frame of one to five gang, allowing a bell push button and switch to both be housed in the same plate. This is the usual setup outside entrances where one can control the porch light and bell from the same points.

Can we order it with our own logo?

Indeed, logo printing on the plate can be done, along with custom carton and instruction sheet. One can also specify the color of the plate depending upon the order. MOQ depends per item thus indicated in your configuration’s quote.
