Key Features & Typical Use
Replacing What Was Already Protected
In older installations, especially in kitchens, laundry rooms, and workshops, covered electrical receptacles were used because those were the places that needed the receptacles to operate at the time of installation. Therefore, when updating the room, these receptacles should be replaced by something with a different cover that serves the same purpose.
What the Cover Actually Does
In its rest position, the cover gets shut over the receptacle. Because of the rest stage, various impurities and rain drops might fall onto the terminal edges. When the cover operates, it gets opened and pushed against the plug, thus providing the utmost protection until it really needs to work.
Compact Panel in Tight Positions
When choosing your designers, you need to know that worktops and utility points are always the most restrictive areas of any design. If only a short piece of wall separates the worktop from the adjacent tile line and unit, the height usually has to be lowered to 73 mm to allow the panel to fit inside the area without damaging the tiling or upstand.
Selected Positions, Not a Whole House
Installing covered outlets depends on their locations rather than the method itself. Hence, their renewal process is the same. For instance, the EF series has many outlets including covered, conventional, and charging outlets in the same panel, which means that one can use conventional sockets somewhere far from the kitchen while still having good kitchen covered sockets.

EF-022 – Covered Outlets Where the Room Produces Dust and Water
The cover is developed based on some physical conditions, such as vapor on a working surface, humidity in a utility area, and dust in a workshop, as well as the washing of a restaurant kitchen. The physical conditions of a room don’t change at all after a renovation, and even become more complicated since the room is intensively used and cannot remain the same. The protected outlet is usually a mere modification of the original technology.
Another way of achieving this goal in a completed area is through the compact panel. The covering model shares a typical housing, contacts, and frame with the common Schuko plug, so the installation cost is identical to that of the French model EF-023 for countries belonging to the type E plug market. Both models have a similar 73mm panel profile.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is a covered socket for?
The cover retains its ability to close, protecting the face of an outlet when the outlet is not in use. Such covers usually are utilized for work areas, utility services, workshops as well as commercial kitchens rather than dry living places.
Does the cover interfere with normal use?
No. The cover rises as the plug is plugged in and stays securely against the plug while the device is switched on, getting closed when the plug is removed. This protection is applicable most of the time, that is, when the socket is not functioning.
Is it the same as a waterproof socket?
A cover offers effective shielding from dust and splashes at the socket opening, which is a requirement for many indoor installations. When it comes to sockets that are directly exposed to weather conditions or water jets, local requirements should first be considered before deciding on the proper installation methods.
Why choose the compact panel for a covered socket?
Outlets that are covered are commonly found in utility areas, and work surfaces. These are some of the most confined spaces in any design. Having a 73mm panel height allows for greater flexibility for the installer in placing the plate within the remaining area of the existing box.
Is a French format version available?
Indeed – EF-023 refers to the French Type E socket, which has the same terminal configuration on the same compact module, thus allowing a project to maintain the socket format applicable for its market.
Can covered and plain sockets be ordered together?
They are able, and that is the pattern followed usually, there are certain number of covered sockets reserved for specific positions, and other positions have plain or charging sockets. The panel and frame systems are the same in all cases, and the MOQ is confirmed by the quotation.
