Key Features & Typical Use
The Outlet That Gets Left Behind
Sockets are commonly replaced one by one during refurbishments. It’s not until later that two-pin sockets are either replaced or left operable. Hence in a room that has been refurbished there may be one socket left with an old socket where everything except it is modern. The absence of the previous socket could be due to the fact that it wasn’t faulty but rather because of its replacement.
Reducing the Area of Damage
The situation arises when a new panel is larger than the one it is replacing, resulting in bare plaster, cut tiles or patched paint around the electrical box. Making the new panel at 73mm high will help to reduce the amount of surrounding finish that can be compromised at a location where the box has already been installed and the finishes are complete.
For Double Insulated Appliances
The ungrounded socket is designed for apparatus that does not need any grounding — lamps, chargers, and domestic electronics made with a double layer of insulation. Devices having metal casings should use the grounded outlet, and the EF series produces both the Schuko and French layouts.
Same Contact Quality as the Range
Phosphor copper contacts are used in the sockets due to the spring property of the metal, ensuring that it grips firmly over time and repeated use. The significance of such property is greater in a socket that is used daily than in a socket that is only occasionally used, despite the age of the overall installation.

EF-015 – Replacement Work Is a Wall Problem Before It Is a Wiring Problem
Asking anyone who performs fitting replacements in buildings that are occupied about what is time-consuming, they would never mention terminals as the one. Installing a new wall plate where walls are tiled, painted, or papered around the old plate would take longer. By using a smaller plate, one would experience much less exposure than if it was a bigger plate, and using a height of 73mm instead of 80mm would only reduce interference with the wall tiles.
For distributors, this module makes for an uncomplicated idea for it makes use of a 16A 250V similar rating with the use of phosphor copper connector and at the same time using a similar frame assembly that is used for the EF connectors where the only difference is the earthing method. In scenarios where there is a project that substitutes appliances instead of rewiring, the setup that has both the ungrounded and earthed types of appliances can be made available on a compact panel thus making the transition seamless.

Buying Guide
- Identify the outlet type to be replaced and confirm the appliance mix it serves.
- Measure the existing opening and fixing centres, and note the distances to tiles, trims or skirting.
- Check the measurement against the 80 x 73mm panel.
- Confirm whether the appliances require an earth; if so, specify the Schuko or French format instead.
- Approve a sample plate against the surrounding finish and confirm quantities with our team.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is an ungrounded socket used for?
The two round pin European plug is accepted, and it is designed for equipment belonging to Class II (double insulated) — such as lamps, chargers and electronics — which are not equipped with live metal parts requiring grounding.
Why choose a compact panel for a replacement?
Generally, the wall restricts replacement rather than the wiring involved. Since a panel with a reduced footprint reveals less of the area around it, it is important if tiling, painting, and/or wall papering were done around an existing outlet.
Is the rating lower than an earthed socket?
The EF-015 has an electrical rating of 16A 250V and comes equipped with its phosphor bronze contact. It is rated the same as both the Schuko and French ones. The only difference between formats is in the grounding configuration but not in the electrical rating.
What if the appliance needs an earth?
Use either the Schuko format (EF-016) or the French format (EF-017). The two formats are available in the same compact panel and the electrical ratings are identical, which means that the format can be catered to the market and the devices without modifying the panel.
Does it fit a standard wall box?
The socket is fixed in the same manner in a standard wall box as are all sockets in this series. Existing boxes can differ, therefore measure the aperture and fixing centres beforehand for a replacement of similar type.
Can it be ordered with other EF sockets in one shipment?
Yes. The ungrounded, Schuko, and French types have the same panel and mounting system, and it is common to have mixed orders for replacement use where each room has a different mix of appliances. The MOQ is confirmed for each item in the quotation.
