European Standard 16A Combination Switch & Socket
S-051/052 combine a European Standard 16A switched Socket (EURO Plug Socket) and a 1 Gang Rocker Switch into one PC panel measuring 75 x 120mm. The switch controls the socket and provides a safe means of isolating connected appliances, localised to the switch; no need to unplug your appliance for isolation. Available in 1 Way (Single Pole) or 2 Way (3 Way) switching with a maximum rating of 16A / 250V with contacts of red copper and silver alloy. Fully IEC certified and 12 Year warranty.
We are factory-direct and offer competitive wholesale pricing on the S series; Custom (OEM Branding) on the PC panel; and 12 Year warranty on the complete S series product range.
Switch Controls the Socket — How It Works
The control for the socket is the switch which activates and deactivates the socket. The switch when off: cuts power to the appliance connected to the socket without having to remove the plug from the socket, and the switch can also be left on; thus providing power to the device connected to the socket at all times. This is particularly beneficial for kitchen appliances, heaters, work tools, entertainment systems and other items that require local power control. The 16A rating on the socket allows for higher wattage equipment to be connected to the socket (e.g. up to approx 4,000W). The switch and the socket utilize the same Red Copper/Silver Alloy contact system to ensure long-term reliability of both the switch and socket.
Designed for the Existing EU-Approved Standard (Types C/E/F-Locking) – PC Front Panel
This Power Outlet with Switch features a 3-Pole Socket compatible with Type C (Europlug), Type E (French), and Type F (Schuko/German). It is suitable for all European Union Member States. The PC front panel is formed from a mould of a high quality, high-transparency material over a rigid iron core, providing the necessary support to keep the panel rigid, while at the same time providing a very strong tactile response when activating a switch or using a receptacle. The available colours are White, Gold, Grey and Black. They match with the rest of the “S” series product line to provide a uniform appearance throughout the wall socket and switches in your home or office within Europe.

Choosing the Right European Switched Socket for your Project
A buyer’s practical guide on how to select the model, plug type compatibility, and wiring of the GOG S series European standard switched socket.
S-051 vs. S-052: Which Model Do you Need?
The S-051 is a switched socket that can only be turned on or off from one location (standard for most rooms). The S-052 is a 2 way/3 table switched socket that can be turned on or off from two locations. It is useful in larger spaces like living rooms where there are two entry points, or hallways with two access points to switch the same switched socket. If you do not require 2 location control, the S-051 would be more cost effective for your project.
Plug Type Compatibility
GOG Switched Sockets will accommodate 3 pop plug configurations; Type C (Europlug)-2 round pins-no ground; Type E (French standard)-2 round pins-plus female ground receptacle; and Type F (Schuko/German standard)-2 round pins plus ground brackets (two side pieces). All three will provide coverage in Germany, France, Spain, Netherlands, Sweden, Austria, Poland, and other European countries. If your project is in Italy (Type L), Switzerland (Type J), or Denmark (Type K), please confirm with the GOG sales team.
Wiring Switch and Outlet Combo
Connecting the power supply switch and outlet combo requires connecting the live wire to the common terminal of the switch and connecting the switched live wire to the input on the GOG switched socket. This allows to full isolation of the GOG switched socket when the rocker is in the off position. If you have chosen the S-052, wiring the switch and outlet can be accomplished 2 ways. Traveler wires must be connected to L1 and L2 to allow for two location control when wiring the S-052. The standard installation is made to fit into a 75mm x 120mm wall box.

Frequently Asked Questions
What wall plugs are used in Europe?
Europe uses several plug types, the most common being Type C (Europlug, two round pins), Type E (French standard, two round pins with a female earth socket), and Type F (Schuko/German standard, two round pins with side earth clips). The S-051/052 European standard switched socket is designed to accept all three — Type C, E, and F plugs — covering the vast majority of EU member states including Germany, France, Spain, Netherlands, Sweden, Austria, and Poland.
What are European sockets called?
European sockets are most commonly called Europlugs (for the plug itself) or European wall sockets / European plug sockets for the wall outlet. The technical names refer to specific types: Type C socket (ungrounded, two round pins), Type E socket (French standard), and Type F socket (Schuko, German standard). The S-051/052 is a European standard switched socket that combines a wall switch with a Type C/E/F compatible outlet in one panel.
Is a European plug Type C or F?
A European plug can be either Type C or Type F — they are different but both widely used. Type C (Europlug) is the slim two‑pin ungrounded plug found on small appliances, phone chargers, and lamps. Type F (Schuko) is the larger round plug with two pins and side earth clips, used for heavier appliances. The S-051/052 switched socket accepts both Type C and Type F plugs, as well as Type E (French standard) plugs, making it a universal European solution for most EU markets.
What does a European wall plug look like?
A European wall plug has two round metal pins, each 4.8mm in diameter and 19mm in length, spaced 19mm apart. Type C plugs are slim and flat with no earth connection. Type E and Type F plugs are larger and rounder, with an earth connection (Type E via a female socket on the plug, Type F via side clips). The S-051/052 European standard switched socket accepts all these variants through its compatible aperture design, with the rocker switch mounted to one side in a clean 75×120mm PC panel.
