Key Features & Typical Use
Charging in the Format the Market Uses
Germany has a lot more charging points than France—there is just no comparison to the mode used in France. Therefore, the project using French sockets must either utilize an adapter, select another type of socket, or forego charging points entirely. The EF-020 makes use of the Type E socket and uses the earth pin present in the socket along with the USB ports being part of the same unit.
Renewal Room by Room
The renovation of standard French homes generally takes place one room at a time rather than all at once. Each of the rooms in the house will have its outlets altered according to the décor of the respective room. This is the case for a power source that combines both circuit and case since at the moment, the renovation has already been carried out, and no new wiring has to be done.
Compact Panel and Finished Interiors
Refurbishment projects in residential properties are usually done with similar surface treatments. When a renovation takes place, it is normal practice to leave existing finishes such as tiles, moldings, and panels intact, which have been in place for years. The 73mm height allows installers to use the new plate comfortably and adequately conceal the area occupied by the old electrical outlet.
Two Tiers, One Plate Format
The 5V 2.1A output service is used for standard application and it is available as well at the EF-021 model with 20 W output. Both types of model are made with the same panel size and the same frame mechanism while being true to the same phosphor copper outlet contact making selection of tier by room all done while maintaining the integrity of the panel’s design.

EF-020 – Bringing French Standard Sockets Up to How Rooms Are Used
The utilization of rooms change more quickly than the wiring arrangements. The socket which was originally intended for devices like lamps or radios is now compatible with the smartphones, thermal scanning gadgets, laptops etc. In this respect, one can take advantage of the services available in France: It is possible to install a charging point in the socket of the old socket.
As the module fulfils requirements of Type E specification, compatibility throughout the installations remains unaffected. In other words, plugs suitable for the room can still be used; earth connection can be effectively ensured in accordance with Type E module specifications. The compact device allows for easy swapping without changing the size of the already installed system, and the socket contains the sufficient cover EF-023 for surfaces and utility connections, where some protection is required.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is a USB charging socket available in the French format?
Indeed, the EF-020 is designed for that purpose. Charging modules are typically sold solely in the German plug version; this is why the French version never has any equivalent device. This module retains the Type E configuration and has additional USB-A and Type-C connectors.
Can it replace an existing French socket directly?
Correctly said. The module is designed for the same wall box and has the same circuitry as the existing socket. The Type E plug design still features the earthing pin so that plugs in that room still fit perfectly.
What charging rate does it deliver?
5V 2.1A, which is considered the usual level of charging which covers everyday phone and tablet charging. When it comes to faster charging requirements, the same socket with 20W output is available in the form of EF-021.
Why does the panel height matter here?
Renovation of traditional French housing typically maintains existing finishes used in the house. Given that the height of the new panels is 73 mm, it can be installed in the same place as the old cover, which prevents the damage to tiles, plaster or wall covering done by the installation of the panel.
Can the socket and the USB ports be used together?
Sure. The charging circuitry is separate and independent of the mains socket; therefore any appliance can be charged from the USB ports.
Can it be supplied with other EF devices in one order?
Certainly. It’s possible to place an order for the design and style of the individual elements in the same series while refreshing a room. The minimum order quantity is determined for each item in the quote and OEM branding is on offer.
