Key Features & Typical Use
Earthed Outlets Are the Ones That Get Replaced
Even when the power outlets in a room are renewed, there are certain appliances that are powered by earthed sockets — kitchen machines, washing machines, and anything else having a metal body — meaning that the earthed plugs are the ones that are monitored and inspected. The Schuko unit in the panel in the wall solves the problem because it has retained the earthed form in which electrical installation is performed.
Format Consistency across a Building
Blending socket formats within a single property frequently arises from uneven replacement of fittings, leading to fixtures that look identical but do not operate originally. By sticking to the market’s format of socket as represented by the common Type F (Schuko) socket, you avoid the pitfall of having devices plugged into sockets incapable of earthing them.
Where the Panel Has to Be Small
Finding replacement locations for appliances in kitchens and utility rooms is often tricky as they are surrounded by tiles, worktops and cupboard fronts. Replacement panels with a height of 73 mm give more flexibility for the positioning of the new plate.
Contacts That Keep Their Grip
The socket contacts are phosphor-copper, which have some springing properties that serve to maintain contact pressure when plugs are repeatedly inserted into the outlet. An outlet is the most commonly used outlet in a kitchen or utility position, thereby dictating the contact material that determines how long the replacement will last.

EF-016 – An Earthed Outlet That Fits the Space Left for It
The kitchen and utility outlets are the most challenging type of outlet to make good. This occurs because they are located between stationary features such as a worktop above, a unit on the side, and surrounding tiles. The position of the box remains unchanged, and the finishes have already been made to fit it. Thanks to a small panel that keeps the new plate within the place of the old one, this outlet format remains relevant。
In terms of electricity, the part has nothing extraordinary: 16 amps and 250 volts Schuko standard, contacts made of phosphor bronze, and the same frame structure as other products from EF range. Since the series is capable of creating both French and ungrounded sockets in one and the same panel, thus the installer working in renovation industry will be able to use the same model in several countries.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is a Schuko socket?
Schuko is referred to as the Type F in Germany and is an earth socket that has two circular holes for current pins and two earth terminals located at the sides of the socket. It is a type of electrical outlet that is most commonly used in Germany, Austria, and some other parts of Europe and is the type listed by most EU standards.
Why is this version offered on a compact panel?
It can be a pain to change socket-outlets when they are properly embedded in their positions inside kitchens or utility rooms — amongst fixed furniture. The 73mm panel height makes it relatively easy to install the new plate according to the surroundings allowed by the existing box and finishing.
Does it accept a two pin plug?
A Schuko socket can typically receive a two pin European plug, with the advantage that the plug would not be used for earthing purposes. That is acceptable for appliances that have double insulation; however, it is important to connect to an earth so that the equipment that needs an earth must be outfitted with a special plug that ensures that an effective earth is created.
Is a USB version available in the same panel?
Indeed, both EF-018 and EF-019 provide Schuko with USB-A and Type-C charging at 5V 2.1A and 20W respectively on the same compact panel, such that a refurbishment can incorporate extra charging points without the need to resort to a different plate format.
Can it be fitted where the old outlet had no earth?
The socket was created with the purpose of linking it to an earth wire. If there is no earth wire in the previous installation, the circuit will need to be evaluated first before being changed, because without the earth wire, the earth connection on the socket is not going to be productive.
Can EF sockets be ordered with switches in one shipment?
Yes. EF switches, sockets and data modules have the same enclosures and finishes, so the renovation order can be put together from only one series. MOQ per unit is specified in the quotation.
